Levitation Series – Designed for Automation
Ariumlab’s Levitation Series magnet plates are specifically engineered for robotic applications and automated workflows. The top plate levitates on a magnetic cushion, allowing pipette tips to gently reach the bottom of the well without bending or breaking. This protects your pipette tips and tubes, prevents reagent loss, and significantly enhances pipetting accuracy.
Due to the shallower seating of PCR wells in the Levitation LE-M Magnet Plate, the magnetic bead ring forms lower in the well. This allows for effective elution with a reduced volume—typically just 8–10 µL—ensuring efficient recovery of your target product with minimal reagent use.
The Levitation LE-M Magnet Plate is compatible with most 96-well PCR plates, including full-skirted, semi-skirted, and non-skirted designs. However, it is not suitable for use with individual PCR strip tubes. The plate also accommodates 384-well microplates such as Eppendorf twin.tec®, 4titude FrameStar®, and Bio-Rad Hard-Shell® plates, ensuring reliable performance across various high-throughput applications.

The Levitation LE-M Magnet Plate is specifically designed for use with automated liquid handling systems and is not recommended for manual pipetting. It delivers optimal performance when paired with advanced liquid handling platforms equipped with multi-channel dispense heads, such as Beckman Biomek® or Eppendorf epMotion® instruments.
Use Only Flat PCR Plates for Reliable Performance
To ensure proper magnetic bead formation, it is essential to use flat, high-quality PCR plates with the LE-M Magnet Plate. Each well must make full contact with the magnet surface so that the magnetic bead ring forms in the correct position. Warped plates can cause uneven contact, leading to bead aggregation at the bottom of the wells and potential bead carryover during elution. The LE Magnet Plate is not compatible with single PCR strip tubes.
For semi-skirted, and non-skirted well plates please use Levitation LE-M Magnet Plate for optimum results. The difference between LE-M Magnet Plate is only the adapter. Adapter helps semi-skirted, and non-skirted well plates securely in place during aspiration and suspension.
